Permission is granted to access and use Vocab Magnet for your personal language learning purposes. If you purchase a Premium subscription, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the premium features for the subscription period. Under this license you may not:
This license automatically terminates if you violate these Terms. Vocab Magnet may suspend or terminate access to the service if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the security or integrity of the service.
All intellectual property rights in Vocab Magnet, including its software, design, branding, algorithms, features, and content provided by the service, are owned by or licensed to Vocab Magnet and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. Vocabulary lists, definitions, examples, and other learning materials provided by Vocab Magnet remain the intellectual property of Vocab Magnet or its licensors.
Except for the limited license granted under these Terms, nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights in the service to you.
You agree not to:
You retain ownership of any custom words, phrases, flashcards, or other content you create within Vocab Magnet ("User Content"). By using the service, you grant Vocab Magnet a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving the service. You represent that you have the rights necessary to upload such content.
We may also use anonymized and aggregated data derived from user activity for internal analytics, research, and product improvement. Such aggregated data does not identify you personally and may be retained even after your account is deleted.
You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content does not violate any laws or third-party rights. Vocab Magnet is not liable for User Content and reserves the right to remove content that is illegal, abusive, or in violation of these Terms.
Data Portability: You may request a copy of your User Content at any time by contacting us at contact@vocabmagnet.com. We will provide your data in a commonly used, machine‑readable format within 30 days of your request. If a self‑service export feature becomes available, we will notify users accordingly.
If you believe that any material on Vocab Magnet infringes your copyright, please provide our Designated Agent with a written notice containing:

You must be at least 16 years old to use Vocab Magnet. If you are under 18, you may only use the service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Guest accounts allow you to explore the service, but your learning data and progress are stored temporarily. Guest account creation requires completing a CAPTCHA verification (hCaptcha) to prevent abuse. Guest accounts that remain inactive for more than 30 days may have their associated data permanently deleted at our discretion. Vocab Magnet is not responsible for any loss of data associated with guest accounts. To preserve your data, you can link your guest account to an OAuth provider (Google or Facebook) at any time, converting it into a permanent account.
Once linked, your data will be retained according to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Guest accounts cannot be used to purchase subscriptions; you must create a permanent account to become a Premium user.
Important: If you create a permanent account by signing up with email or OAuth without linking your existing guest account, your guest learning data will not be automatically transferred and may be lost. To preserve your guest data, use the "link account" options which are available in the profile settings.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com Market Limited is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles payment processing, billing, invoicing, applicable tax collection, and refund processing on our behalf. By completing a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms of Use.
When purchasing a Premium subscription, you agree to provide accurate and complete billing information, including a valid email address, a valid payment method, and an accurate billing address. Payment is handled entirely by Paddle - Vocab Magnet does not store or access your card details.
All prices displayed may include applicable taxes (such as VAT) depending on your location. The final price, including taxes, will be shown at checkout before payment.
Before completing a purchase, you will have the opportunity to review your order details, including the subscription plan, billing information, and applicable taxes, and to correct any errors before finalizing the transaction.
Vocab Magnet offers three subscription options: monthly (every 1 month), quarterly (every 3 months), and annual (every 1 year). Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period according to your chosen option. You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your profile settings or by contacting support. By default, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you will retain Premium access until that time. Alternatively, you may choose to end your subscription immediately, in which case access to Premium features will be revoked at once. In both cases, no further payments will be charged after cancellation.
We may change subscription prices from time to time. If the price for your subscription plan increases, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via email. If you do not wish to pay the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
By completing a purchase or activating a subscription, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms of Service.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of the transaction date, without giving any reason. This right may no longer apply once you have actively used the Premium features, pursuant to EU digital content regulations (Directive 2011/83/EU), if you explicitly consented to immediate access and acknowledged that this waives your right of withdrawal.

Outside of the 14-day withdrawal window, refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and processed by Paddle. We will cooperate with Paddle to resolve legitimate refund requests in a timely manner. To request a refund, contact us at contact@vocabmagnet.com or use the support link in your Paddle receipt email. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts where billing information is inaccurate or fraudulent activity is detected.
You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon deletion, we will initiate the permanent removal of your learning data, custom words, and account information within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days). Any active subscription will be canceled and no further payments will be taken. This action is irreversible.
Residual copies of your data may remain in our backups for a reasonable period but will not be actively accessible or used.
Vocab Magnet may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, compromise the security of the service, or pose a risk to other users. If you believe your account was terminated in error, please contact us at contact@vocabmagnet.com.
The materials on Vocab Magnet's website are provided on an as-is basis. Vocab Magnet makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other rights.
Vocab Magnet does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its website or on any sites linked to it.
The materials on Vocab Magnet's website may include technical, typographical, or content errors. Vocab Magnet does not warrant that any of the materials are accurate, complete, or current. We may make changes to the materials at any time without notice, but make no commitment to update them.
Vocab Magnet is a learning tool and does not guarantee specific language learning outcomes. Results depend on individual effort and study habits.
As a curated learning platform, we do not guarantee that all vocabulary definitions, examples, translations or any other properties are error‑free. You acknowledge that language learning involves exposure to potentially incorrect or incomplete data, and you should verify critical information independently.
CEFR level assignments (A1, A2, B1, B2+) are approximate indicators derived from frequency data and difficulty and are not based on official CEFR word lists. They are intended as a general learning guide only and should not be used for formal language assessment or exam preparation.
The service is provided on a best-effort basis. Vocab Magnet does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the service. Maintenance, updates, or technical issues may result in temporary interruptions.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Vocab Magnet shall not be liable for data loss resulting from technical failures, account deletion, or other service disruptions, except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence. Users are responsible for maintaining backups of any important information.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Vocab Magnet and its suppliers shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the service, even if Vocab Magnet has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage.
Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total liability of Vocab Magnet arising out of or relating to the use of the service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the service during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation applies only to typical and foreseeable damages and does not apply where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable German law.
Vocab Magnet shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, internet outages, infrastructure failures, government actions, or other force majeure events.
Our service may contain links to third‑party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Vocab Magnet. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third‑party websites. You acknowledge and agree that Vocab Magnet shall not be liable for any damage or loss caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such websites. The use of third-party websites or services is at your own risk.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Changes may be necessary due to:
When changes are significant, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via email or through an in-service notice. The notification will clearly explain the changes and their effective date.
If you do not agree to the changes, you have the right to terminate your account and subscription before the new Terms take effect, without penalty. To terminate, simply cancel your subscription through your profile settings or contact us at contact@vocabmagnet.com.
Your continued use of Vocab Magnet after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If changes are required by law, they may become effective immediately upon notification.
We are continually improving Vocab Magnet. We may add, modify, or remove features, content, or functionality at any time. We may also suspend or discontinue the service (or any part of it) temporarily or permanently. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes that materially affect their use of the service. You agree that Vocab Magnet shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the service.

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. For all other users, you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Germany.
These Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Vocab Magnet regarding your use of the service. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
